Future of Healthcare Ecosystems Webinar

Our health landscape is rapidly evolving. But are our future health facilities and our urban environments being designed to respond and adapt? And will they improve health and wellbeing for all?

Our report Future of Healthcare Ecosystems highlights the major trends shaping healthcare delivery – from demand for improved access and more bespoke health services, to greater emphasis on the wider determinants of health and wellbeing, an ageing population and the opportunities presented by new technologies.

Designing for our future healthcare facilities and responding to these trends will require collaborative, multidisciplinary approaches – engaging stakeholders from community, government, private enterprise and not for profit – much like we have witnessed in response to the pandemic.

This recent webinar was a discussion on the future of healthcare systems where our guest panel of experts shared their insights into:

  • The greatest opportunities to improve healthcare, particularly following recent lessons learned locally and internationally

  • Health in place: the integration of health and wellbeing into the design of the built environment

  • Health precincts and investment attraction

  • Improving cultural inclusion for better outcomes in health delivery for all

  • Incorporating green design and its benefits in healthcare – insights from Singapore.

Guest panellists:

  • Prof. Jeremy Chapman AC; Renal Physician, Deputy Chair of Western Sydney Local Health District and Chair Westmead Research Hub Council

  • Stefano Scalzo; Executive General Manager Victoria’s Health & Human Services Building Authority

  • Kate Copeland, Chair Australian Health Design Council, Executive Director Assets and Infrastructure, Metro North Hospital and Health Service
