Devni Acharya leads Arup’s work on sustainability strategy and insights in Southeast Asia.

She has wide-ranging experience advising investors, developers and governments on how they can benefit from sustainable development by adopting low carbon, resilient and circular economy approaches. Her collaborative, evidence-based and value-driven approach ensure strategic interventions are identified for organisations across materials, design, business models and policy. She strives for excellence and leverages her global network across Arup to drive impact and innovation on projects.

Devni has worked with several of Arup’s strategic partners including C40 Cities under the climate action planning programme in Southeast Asia and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation on circular economy thought leadership. Before focussing on climate change and circular economy, Devni worked in sustainable resource and waste management. Projects ranged from infrastructure design to masterplan servicing strategies in the UK, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia. 

Devni has a Master of Chemical Engineering, is a Chartered Waste Manager and has worked in Arup offices in the UK and Singapore.
