Achieving Manchester's Green Ambitions

Achieving Greater Manchester's green ambitions

In Spring 2018, The Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham held a landmark Green Summit, to initiate debate on how the city region could make rapid progress towards a zero-carbon economy.

Achieving Greater Manchester’s green ambitions, sets out our thoughts and the ways we are contributing towards the ‘Springboard’ priority areas identified by the Greater Manchester city region.

The transition to a zero-carbon economy will require strategic, policy and technical change. Success will be determined by efficient and integrated technical solutions in areas such as energy, transport, buildings and the natural environment, together with changes in attitudes and behaviours. Collaborative action between businesses, local government and individuals, will support positive change and ensure everyone can benefit from a green, zero carbon economy.

Working together, Arup is helping support the shift to zero carbon across multiple sectors to translate sustainability ambitions into meaningful action.
