We have been commissioned by the Urban Development Agency of Duisburg (EG DU) to provide structural engineering services for three pedestrian bridges in the RheinPark in Duisburg.
Although each bridge has a different geometry, we have been able to design one structural system in such a way that all three of them could be assembled out of identical components.
As the first horizontal and vertical mode shapes of the bridges were within the critical range, we carried out comprehensive dynamic investigations and subsequent calculations to ensure that the vibrations and accelerations would not compromise the bridges’ serviceability.
As a result, the bridges can be used without restriction.
