Arup submits application to join CHINCA at CIIE

Arup officially announces submitting membership application to join China International Contractors Association (CHINCA), and fostering global strategic ties with two important CHINCA members to pursue opportunities under the Belt and Road Initiative. 

Joining CHINCA provides a unique platform for Arup to share and exchange its best global practice to cooperate with the 1,500 members to jointly unlock more opportunities in the overseas market.

Arup also signs two memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with two CHINCA members, China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC) and PowerChina to form global strategic cooperation. The Chinese partners’ experience in delivering major projects strongly complementary with Arup’s global track records in designing complex infrastructure works. The strategic partnerships will allow both parties hand holding together in capturing new opportunities along the Belt and Road.

The event takes place at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai. The first-ever import trade fair is one of President Xi Jinping and the Chinese government’s flagship diplomacy activity in 2018, attracting over 3,000 exhibitors from all over the world. Arup showcases its strong international project experience at the UK National Pavilion, together with other world-leading companies, to demonstrate how the UK’s innovation and pioneering technologies can support China’s further domestic and international development.
