Arup’s positive contribution to the built environment has been recognised with its projects winning seven awards at the Property Council of Australia’s 2020 Innovation and Excellence Awards.

Arup worked on building projects which won in a diverse range of categories – best public building, office, workplace, sustainability and heritage.

Cameron Dymond, Australasia Property Leader for Arup said the awards recognise exceptionally high quality in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

Being involved in these stand-out projects has been a privilege. We’re thrilled to have contributed to such useful and sustainable spaces for the benefit of our clients and the community. ”

Most awarded project, with three wins, was Barrack Place in Sydney for which Arup undertook all engineering disciplines. A 6-Star Green Star rated commercial building with ground floor retail, we occupy five floors of this vibrant development as our Sydney home.

Our Melbourne office – for which we were co-designer and engineer across all disciplines – won the highly competitive Best Workplace Project of the Year, testimony to its successful emphasis on connectivity, flexibility, sustainability and wellness. It is part of the One Melbourne Quarter precinct.

Joseph Correnza was the Project Sponsor/Director and led the design development of our Melbourne Workplace, a process which captured Arup culture and focussed on how people felt their environment could help them do their best work.

“We have created a workplace where people feel they can thrive and be innovative, be connected and truly part of a unifying space and team,” Joseph said.

Our aim was to embed wellness and flexibility within a unique and changing environment, promoting collaboration across our teams and with our clients and partners. ”
