Graeme McCann

Director, Renewable Energy Leader for the UK, India, Middle East and Africa

Graeme is Arup's Renewable Energy Leader for the UK, India, Middle East and Africa, and a Technical Director based in our Bristol office. He focuses on the design of utility-scale wind energy assets and the application of advanced analysis methods. Dedicated to helping clients innovate and implement market leading solutions, he aims to drive the energy industry to a greener future.

Working for over 20 years in the renewable energy industry, Graeme has broad technical experience and has led multiple renewable energy projects across different countries. His project experience includes FEED and detailed design-level load analysis for a range of UK, German and Korean offshore wind farms, digitalisation of wind plant control for Goldwind and numerous wind turbine and farm development projects in Europe, Asia and the United States.

Graeme graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh, is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (MIMechE). He has co-authored a variety of publications, such as Renewable Energy from the Oceans (2019, IET technology series – volume 129) and effects of aeroelastic tailoring on performance characteristics of wind turbine systems (2017, Renewable Energy – Volume 114).
