I am an Associate Director in Arup London’s Building Engineering team. As an Environmental and Building Services Engineer, with a background in mechanical engineering and passive design, I have delivered high quality sustainable developments in the UK and abroad. My recent projects include the refurbishment of the Royal Academy of Arts in London, the new headquarters buildings for Sky TV in London and Amorepacific in Seoul. My ongoing projects include the new Museum of London, the Lambeth Palace renovation and the V&A’s Collection and Research Centre.

I am passionate about progressive architecture, circular economy, and the integration of smart design and circular ideas into the conventional engineering world. Lately I have been experimenting with Parametric Design in building services engineering; see my Breakfast with Arup talk 2017 Avant Garde vs The Old Garde.

I have authored a number of mechanical engineering courses in Arup University and have been invited to lecture in Architectural and Engineering courses in London Universities.

The technical content of my work has encompassed an extensive range of general building engineering, environmental passive design and renovation of heritage and existing buildings. I hold a firm belief in the concept of ‘total design’ and the improved quality and economy that can be generated through a truly holistic sustainable design approach.
